Camp Big Heart Sponsorships

 

Mission to provide the highest quality summer recreational camping experience for Georgia’s developmentally challenged children and adults. Camp Big Heart has over a 30 year history of providing safe, affordable, high quality, individualized and group camping programs staffed and supervised by committed and caring professionals in the field of human services.

Special Needs Cobb

 

North Cobb Civitan Club supports Special Needs Cobb by adopting the orphans at the group homes for Christmas, showering all the group home residents with love on Valentine's Day, and supporting fundraisers by providing volunteers for the annual golf tournament and Different is Dazzling Celebration in April. We will continue to provide opportunities for enrichment and support for all residents throughout the year, in partnership with other Civitan Clubs in Cobb County.

Special Olympics Georgia

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

 

North Cobb Civitan Club participates in Special Olympics Georgia's annual Polar Plunge each year, as well as volunteering at various events throughout the year.

Civitan International Research Center

 

The Civitan International Research Center (CIRC) was created in 1989 with a $20 million pledge from Civitan International. Since opening in 1992, the CIRC has emerged as a world leader in the research and treatment of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) which impact the lives of one in six people worldwide.

 

Our Civitan Club sends financial support throught the year for this mission.

Devereux

 

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. We have a unique model that connects the latest scientific and medical advancements to practical, effective interventions in the treatment of behavioral health.

North Cobb Civitan supports Devereux through annual luggage drives, a coat drive, support for graduation ceremonies and financial support.

New Horizons Field

​

Every year, we partner with the Horizon League in Acworth to provide children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in athletic events.  We participate in buddy baseball and this year, we enjoyed buddy kickball!
